Ipswich Town: Facing La Liga, Ligue 1, and Bundesliga Rivals

Ipswich Town is embarking on an intensive pre-season training camp in Murcia, Spain, this week. Temperatures are expected to exceed 30 degrees Celsius daily during their five-day stay, which will include a behind-closed-doors friendly.

Upon their return, Ipswich will face Osasuna on July 29th at Colchester Community Stadium. Osasuna, who narrowly avoided relegation from La Liga last season, recently saw winger Victor Munoz depart for Liverpool for £34m. Ipswich had previously been linked with their centre-back, Enzo Boyomo.

The team will then split their squad for two matches on August 1st. First, they play Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium, followed by a clash against Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park. Oxford United, recently relegated from the Championship, has experienced mixed results against Ipswich in recent encounters.

Ipswich returns to Portman Road on August 4th to host Ligue 1 side Le Havre. Le Havre, a record six-time Ligue 2 champion, secured promotion in 2023 and has since maintained its top-flight status. Their squad has seen several key player departures this summer.

Further home fixtures include a match against Spanish club Rayo Vallecano on August 8th. Rayo Vallecano, known for its unique neighbourhood identity in Madrid, has been a stable mid-table La Liga side and previously reached the UEFA Conference League final.

Ipswich's pre-season concludes on August 15th with a trip to Germany to face Union Berlin. The fan-owned Bundesliga club, which reached the Champions League in 2022, narrowly avoided relegation last season. Marie-Louise Eta notably became the first woman to manage a men's team in a top European league during their recent campaign.
