The Iowa State Cyclones are preparing for the upcoming basketball season, with their non-conference schedule recently announced. The team, which achieved a 16-0 start and reached a No. 2 ranking last season, is looking to replicate that success. Despite losing significant players from the previous campaign, new faces will join the roster in Ames.
The schedule features exhibition games before a season opener against Memphis in South Dakota. Following easier home games, the Cyclones will travel to Las Vegas for the Players Era Festival, facing a strong field including teams from power conferences. Early December presents two major tests against Big Ten opponents: Purdue and the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Cy-Hawk rivalry.
This demanding non-conference slate offers Iowa State a solid opportunity to start the season positively. The team is considered a favorite to win the Players Era Festival, signaling a potentially exciting season ahead.
