Iowa's football program has officially offered a scholarship to highly-touted 2028 four-star tight end Israel Johnigan. The talented recruit from Center High School in Kansas City, Missouri, was on an unofficial visit to Kinnick Stadium this past Saturday.
Johnigan's visit coincided with the thrilling Cy-Hawk game where Iowa secured a victory against their rival, Iowa State. The electric atmosphere of the game reportedly impressed many elite recruits in attendance, including Johnigan, who left with an offer from the Hawkeyes.
Currently ranked as the 181st prospect nationally in the 2028 class by 247Sports, Johnigan is also recognized as the No. 9 tight end and the No. 2 player in Missouri. His offer sheet already includes notable programs such as Arizona, Penn State, and Wisconsin, among others.
In his junior season thus far, Johnigan has demonstrated his playmaking ability with eight receptions for 142 yards and two touchdowns through two games. His sophomore year statistics also highlight his potential, with 13 receptions for 213 yards and four touchdowns.
