According to reports, Inter Milan's star midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has suffered a minor wrist injury while on international duty with Turkey. The 31-year-old player twisted his wrist during Turkey's 2-0 home victory over Bulgaria last week.
Despite converting an early penalty to put his side in front, Calhanoglu finished the match in discomfort. He has now been granted an early discharge from the Turkish national team and will skip their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against reigning European champions Spain.
Already back at Inter's training ground, Appiano Gentile, Calhanoglu is now focused on regaining full fitness ahead of Sunday's highly anticipated Milan derby against AC Milan. The former Milan playmaker has been a crucial player for Inter this season, topping the club's scoring charts in Serie A with five goals so far.
Meanwhile, Inter defender Matteo Darmian has also regained full fitness and will be available for selection by manager Cristian Chivu for the upcoming clash against their city rivals.
