Inter Milan Shifts Focus After Atalanta Rejects Offers for Lookman and Kone
19 Aug
Summary
- Inter Milan has dropped interest in Atalanta's Lookman after two rejected offers
- Inter still pursuing Chelsea's Nkunku and Roma's Kone, but talks have stalled
- Dalmat believes Lookman would be a "massive signing" for Inter

As of August 19th, 2025, Inter Milan has shifted its focus in the transfer market after failing to secure the signings of Atalanta's Ademola Lookman and Roma's Manu Kone. The San Siro giants had made multiple offers for the two players, but both were rejected by their respective clubs.
Consequently, Inter has reportedly dropped its interest in Lookman, as they do not want to waste more time on the 27-year-old. However, there is a possibility that the sale of Nicola Zalewski to Atalanta could reopen talks between the two clubs regarding Lookman's potential move in the opposite direction.
Meanwhile, Inter remains interested in Kone, who had an impressive season with Roma in 2024/25. But negotiations with the Giallorossi have so far failed to take off. Analyst Stephane Dalmat believes Kone is a good player, but he is not convinced the midfielder would fit well into Inter's system.

Dalmat is, however, a strong advocate for Inter to sign Lookman, whom he sees as the "ideal player" for the team. The analyst believes Lookman's ability to take on defenders, create overloads, and facilitate scoring would be a massive addition for Inter.
In other news, the future of Benjamin Pavard at Inter Milan remains uncertain, with Dalmat suggesting the club should only sell the defender for a high fee, not less than €20 million. Meanwhile, the analyst has high hopes for Ange-Yoan Bonny, who he believes could become a key player for Inter in the future, potentially even as a successor to Marcus Thuram.
