Blind Athletes Shine at Annual Sports Meet

The Institute for the Blind commenced its Annual Sports Meet on December 5th, with Sports Director Sorabh Kumar Arora officially opening the two-day event. Held at the Sector 7 Sports Complex, the meet celebrated the athletic achievements of over 160 students from the Institute, in addition to welcoming 240 visiting students from other schools who offered enthusiastic encouragement.
The inauguration ceremony featured a vibrant Zumba performance and a special sports song composed and performed by students. Chief Guest Arora lauded the students' progress and pledged support for enhanced facilities and participation in new sports disciplines. The Institute's Chairman, Dinesh Kumar Kapila, emphasized the institution's dedication to students' overall growth in a dynamic world.
The successful execution of the event was facilitated by 40 guide runners from KB DAV School and 60 officials and volunteers, underscoring a strong community effort. This collaborative spirit ensured a memorable and inspiring experience for all participating blind athletes.
