India's Kabaddi Squads Gear Up for Asian Games

The Indian men's and women's Kabaddi squads departed for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games following a send-off ceremony at SAI NCOE Gandhinagar on September 14, 2026. Both teams underwent final preparations at the facility from September 5 to 14, 2026.
Women's captain Pushpa Rana emphasized that India's thriving league culture is not only developing domestic talent but also boosting Kabaddi's international standing. She noted the excellent training facilities provided by SAI NCOE Gandhinagar.
Men's captain Sunil Kumar highlighted the sport's evolution into a faster, more tactical game with increasing global competition. Both captains expressed confidence in their teams' readiness. Head Coaches Balwan Singh and Neeta Dadwe lauded the players' commitment and dedication.
Both the men's and women's teams previously won gold medals at the 2022 Asian Games. Following the Asian Games, they are set to compete in the inaugural Commonwealth Kabaddi Championship 2026 in Ahmedabad from October 10 to 20, 2026.
