Johnson's journey, which began in Kolkata in 2007, saw him represent India at the Olympic Games, World Athletics Championships, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games.
His career highlight was the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, where he clinched the 1500m gold with a time of 3 minutes 44.72 seconds and a silver in the 800m. During 2018, Johnson also shattered the 42-year-old national record for the 800m and the 23-year-old record for the 1500m. He further improved his own 1500m national record multiple times.

He expressed gratitude to his coaches, fellow athletes, and support systems for their contributions throughout his demanding yet rewarding career.
