Indian Badminton Prodigy Anmol Kharb Reaches Arctic Open 2025 Semifinals

In a remarkable achievement, Indian women's singles shuttler Anmol Kharb has advanced to the semifinals of the ongoing Arctic Open 2025 badminton tournament. The 18-year-old, currently ranked 62nd in the world, defeated Danish world no. 63 player Amalie Schulz in straight sets to secure her place in the top four of the prestigious BWF Super 500 event.

Kharb's deepest run in a BWF Tour tournament prior to this was a runner-up finish at the Guwahati Masters Super 100 last year. However, this is the first time the young Indian has made it to the semifinals of a Super 500 competition. Kharb dominated her quarterfinal match, winning 21-15, 21-14 in just 36 minutes.

The Indian badminton player will now face either top seed Akane Yamaguchi of Japan or eighth seed Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark for a spot in the final. Kharb's impressive performance has made her the last remaining Indian challenger at the Arctic Open 2025. Meanwhile, the Indian mixed doubles pair of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto had to bow out after losing to the world no. 1 Chinese duo of Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin.
