Team India has secured its place in the Super 8 round of the T20 World Cup 2026, following an emphatic 61-run victory against Pakistan on February 15. This decisive win at the R Premadasa Stadium propelled the Men in Blue to the top of Group A, amassing six points from their initial three matches. Their campaign began with a 29-run win over the USA and a dominant 93-run victory against Namibia, their largest T20 World Cup win to date.
The team, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, is set to play their final group match against the Netherlands on February 18 in Ahmedabad. Following this, India will shift focus to the Super 8 stage, where they have been placed in Group 1. This group also includes strong contenders South Africa, West Indies, and Zimbabwe, with Australia having been eliminated.
India's Super 8 journey commences on February 22 in Ahmedabad against South Africa. Subsequently, they will face Zimbabwe in Chennai on February 26, concluding their Super 8 fixtures against the West Indies in Kolkata on March 1. The top two teams from each Super 8 group will advance to the semifinals, scheduled for March 4 and 5, with the T20 World Cup 2026 final set to be played on March 8.
