India Crushes West Indies, Gains Ground in ICC Test Championship

As of October 4, 2025, the India National Cricket Team has made significant gains in the ICC World Test Championship Points Table 2025-27 after a dominant victory over the West Indies. The two-match Test series between India and the West Indies is part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle.

India's commanding performance in the first Test, where they won by an innings and 140 runs, has seen them climb to the third spot in the WTC points table. Under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, the Indian team had a successful England tour earlier, where they managed to draw the five-match Test series.

As a result, India now stands third on the ICC World Test Championship Points Table 2025-27 with 40 points and a 55.56 PCT score. Meanwhile, Australia continues to lead the table with 36 points and a perfect 100 PCT, having won all three of their WTC matches so far. Sri Lanka is in second place with 16 points and a 66.67 PCT.

The West Indies, on the other hand, have lost all four of their WTC matches, including the recent defeat against India, and are yet to open their account in the points table.
