India Clinch Series Win Over England in Thrilling ODI Clash
22 Jul
Summary
- India won the 3-match ODI series 2-1 against England
- 21-year-old Indian seamer Kranti Goud took 6-52, her maiden 5-wicket haul
- England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt scored 98 in a losing cause

In a recent winner-takes-all third one-day international in Chester-le-Street, India clinched a 2-1 series victory over England. After being put in to bat, India posted a formidable total of 318-5, with captain Harmanpreet Kaur scoring a blistering 102 off 84 balls.
Chasing a record women's ODI target of 319, England got off to a poor start, losing their openers Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones early. However, a 162-run partnership between captain Nat Sciver-Brunt and Emma Lamb (68) revived the chase. Sciver-Brunt fell agonizingly short of a century, but Sophia Dunkley, Alice Davidson-Richards, and Charlie Dean kept England in the hunt.
Despite the lower-order efforts, England ultimately fell short by 13 runs. The star of the day was 21-year-old Indian seamer Kranti Goud, who claimed a maiden five-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 6-52 to wrap up the England innings.
