The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum has announced the induction of racing icons Scott Dixon and Giampaolo Dallara into its Hall of Fame. This prestigious recognition celebrates their significant contributions to motorsports.
Scott Dixon, a celebrated driver entering his 25th IndyCar season, is a six-time IndyCar Series champion and notably won the 2008 Indianapolis 500. Hailing from New Zealand, Dixon expressed that the honor feels surreal as he remains focused on competing and winning at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Giampaolo Dallara, the founder and president of Dallara, an Italian race car manufacturing company established in 1972, is also being honored. Dallara's company has served as the sole chassis supplier for IndyCar since 2008 and holds similar exclusive roles in Formula 2, Formula 3, and Super Formula championships.
Dallara, who began his career working with renowned automotive marques before founding his own company, stated that the Indianapolis 500 has been a lifelong inspiration. He conveyed gratitude to the teams, drivers, and partners who have supported his work over the years.
Both Dixon and Dallara were elected to the Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility. Their official induction ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 21st, at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.
