2 Feb
Summary
- Illinois achieved a program first by winning consecutive road games against top-5 teams.

- The Illini secured their 11th consecutive victory, tying them for first in the Big Ten.
In a significant Big Ten conference game, the Illinois Illini defeated the Nebraska Huskers. This win propels Illinois into a tie for first place within the conference standings. For the first time in their program's history, Illinois has secured back-to-back road victories against top-5 ranked opponents.
The Illini's 78-69 win over Nebraska, which occurred on Sunday afternoon, extends their current winning streak to an impressive 11 games. This streak began shortly after Nebraska had previously upset Illinois in Champaign during mid-December. Despite their shots not consistently falling, Illinois relied on exceptional ball movement and a stifling defensive effort in the second half to frustrate Nebraska's key players.
