Hundred's First-Ever Auction Looms: Big Buys Expected
27 Jan
Summary
- The Hundred will hold its inaugural player auction on March 11 and 12.
- Eight franchises have already secured three or four players pre-auction.
- All matches from the 2026 season will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

The Hundred is set to conduct its first player auction on March 11 and 12, a move influenced by substantial overseas investment in the eight franchises. Previously, players were acquired through a draft system, but the new auction format mirrors successful models like the IPL.
Franchises have already signed or retained up to four players before the auction. Notably, MI London and Sunrisers Leeds are among the teams that have undergone name changes following new ownership. The 2026 season will commence on Tuesday, July 21, at The Kia Oval, with defending champions MI London Men and Sunrisers Leeds Women in action.
Every match of the 2026 season, including the eliminators on August 14 and finals on August 16, will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. The tournament structure features eight group games for each team, with local rivals played twice. Teams topping the league phase will advance directly to the finals, while second and third-placed teams will compete in an eliminator.
