31 Mar
Summary
- Two top horses removed from classic race by mistake.
- Computer error caused accidental scratching from event.
- Betting market in turmoil following the incident.

The European horse racing scene is experiencing significant disruption due to a "computer blip" that led to the accidental withdrawal of two prominent horses from the 2,000 Guineas. Albert Einstein and Gstaad, both backed by bettors, were mistakenly removed from the ante-post betting market for the upcoming classic race at Newmarket.
Trainer Aidan O'Brien explained that the error occurred when attempting to withdraw the horses from a different race, the Dante, but inadvertently pressed the button for the Guineas. Efforts are underway to rectify the mistake and have the horses reinstated, with hopes that common sense will prevail in the process.
