The Indiana Hoosiers have been crowned Big Ten champions after a surprising 13-10 victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza was visibly emotional in a post-game interview, expressing his disbelief and attributing the win to faith, coaches, and teammates.
Despite the emotional display, social media reactions were largely critical, with many users trolling Mendoza for his tears. However, former NFL star Robert Griffin III praised Mendoza's passion, joy, and leadership, suggesting he proved his worth this season.
Mendoza, who transferred from the California Golden Bears in December 2024, threw for 222 yards and one touchdown in the championship game. His impressive collegiate statistics and recent performance position him as a potential Heisman trophy candidate.
