Hawks Land Big Man Veesaar After Draft Day Tumble

Henri Veesaar endured a significant tumble in the NBA draft, falling beyond initial expectations and out of the first round. Despite criticism for leaving college early, his unexpected slide ended when the Atlanta Hawks traded up from pick 57 to select him at No. 52 overall. Veesaar joins Kingston Flemings and Zuby Ejiofor as the Hawks' third draft pick. Standing at 6'11", Veesaar offers much-needed size, strong rebounding, and floor-stretching capabilities. Last season, he averaged 17.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists for North Carolina, shooting an efficient 62% from the field and 43% from three.
