Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah has joined Al-Taawoun with aspirations of restoring the club to prominence and continuing his historic career in the Saudi Pro League. As of July 26, 2026, Hamdallah stands just five goals shy of equalling Omar Al Somah's record as the competition's all-time leading scorer. However, his immediate priority is guiding Al-Taawoun to silverware, believing the team possesses the quality to contend for titles, including a continental championship.
Al-Taawoun, who last won the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup in 2019, are building on their sixth-place finish last season, which secured them a spot in the AFC Champions League 2. Hamdallah expressed his delight with the move, citing a mutual fit at this stage of his career. The team's training camp is proceeding as planned, with preparations aimed at achieving full physical and mental readiness for the season's start.
The Saudi Roshn League campaign for Al-Taawoun commences on August 15th against Al-Khaleej. Their pre-season training concludes on July 30th in the Netherlands, following friendly matches. Hamdallah has appealed to Al-Taawoun fans for their support throughout the season, promising to give their all to achieve success and deliver an exciting brand of football.
