Two Staffordshire landscapers achieved viral fame after challenging football star Erling Haaland to engage with their social media content. Wade Taylor and Shane Hassall, from Maple Landscapes, posted a video on Instagram last week with a playful dare: if their post reached 100,000 likes and garnered a comment from Haaland, Hassall would get a day off for go-karting.
The video quickly amassed hundreds of thousands of likes, reaching 100,000 within its first four hours. Two days after posting, the Manchester City striker responded with encouraging messages. This viral moment led to TeamSport in Burslem offering the landscapers a complimentary go-karting session, completing their initial challenge.
Taylor and Hassall, who have been focusing on social media marketing, continue their landscaping work in Staffordshire and Cheshire. They are now planning their next ambitious challenge: aiming for 500,000 likes and a comment from England captain Harry Kane to raise money for BBC Children in Need. If successful, they plan to walk from Stoke-on-Trent to Salford Quays to give back.
