Will Grier Stuns Football World with Shock Retirement

Will Grier, a 31-year-old former standout college quarterback and active NFL player, has unexpectedly announced his retirement from professional football. Grier's NFL journey, which began after being selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2019 draft, saw him play for multiple teams, including brief periods with the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles, and Los Angeles Chargers.

Despite not fully establishing himself at the NFL level, Grier's collegiate career was highly memorable, particularly during his time at West Virginia University. He transferred from the Florida Gators to West Virginia, where he amassed 7,354 passing yards and 71 touchdowns over three seasons. His performance in 2018 earned him fourth place in the Heisman Trophy voting. That same year, he received Big 12 Newcomer of the Year honors, though his season was cut short by injury. Grier, originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, is married and has two daughters.
