Australian golfer Grace Kim, who achieved a breakthrough major title at the Evian Championship nine months ago, is now dedicated to mentoring the nation's promising young talent. She follows in the footsteps of Australian legend Karrie Webb, who provided Kim with crucial support through a scholarship four times during her amateur career.

Kim believes that by guiding aspiring golfers, she is also benefiting her own game. This mentorship offers a valuable distraction from the demands of professional golf, helping her to maintain a more balanced and enjoyable approach. The 25-year-old noted that the youthful energy of the juniors inspires her to have fun, preventing her from taking the sport too seriously.

Her major victory in France last year, secured with a dramatic eagle on the 18th hole, not only brought her significant recognition but also a five-year exemption into major championships. This exemption has provided Kim with the luxury of carefully selecting her tournament schedule, allowing her and her team to focus on strategic development and improvement.

Kim is set to compete in her 17th major appearance at this weekend's US Open at Riviera Country Club. Reflecting on her major win, Kim acknowledges it bolstered her belief in her ability to succeed at the elite level. She also recalled humorous past events, such as wearing distinctive costumes with a fellow player while watching Hannah Green win a major in 2019, showcasing her lighthearted personality.

Recently, Kim collaborated with Golf Australia and Ripper GC, using an off-week to refine her game after a challenging start to the season, including missing the cut at the first major. She identified mental challenges, particularly regarding putting, and worked with her coach to establish technical guidelines for improvement on the course.
