Sofia Goggia has claimed her first super-G crystal globe, securing the discipline title with a victory at the World Cup finals in Kvitfjell, Norway. This marks her third super-G win of the season.
Her dominant performance on Sunday was crucial as it widened the gap in the overall standings. American skier Mikaela Shiffrin, who entered the race with a significant lead, finished 22nd, earning no points. This result narrows Shiffrin's overall lead to 45 points heading into the final two races.
Despite a strong start, Shiffrin now faces pressure in the upcoming slalom and giant slalom events. Alice Robinson of New Zealand, Goggia's closest rival in the super-G standings, struggled with mistakes during her run and finished far behind the leader.
Other notable performances included Corinne Suter of Switzerland taking second place and Kira Weidle-Winkelmann of Germany finishing third. Ilka Štuhec concluded her career with this race, placing 2.56 seconds behind Goggia.
