The Goddard Lions football team is preparing for the upcoming season with a roster featuring numerous new players following a large senior class graduation. This year's squad will rely on the leadership of returning seniors, including quarterback Brock Sullivan and running back Erik Olivas, who are expected to spearhead the offense.
Sullivan, who led the team on a deep playoff run last season, and Olivas, who recorded over 200 rushing yards in a key postseason victory, will be instrumental in establishing offensive rhythm. Head coach Tommy Beason emphasizes making up for a potential lack of size with intelligence and strategic plays.
Defensively, senior Corbin Wright is set to anchor the defensive line. Coach Beason also highlighted the importance of a fast, aggressive defensive style with improved tackling. The Lions will begin their season earlier than most, hosting Campus on Thursday, September 3rd.
