Initially, the Houston Rockets were mentioned as a potential suitor, given their history of pursuing star players. However, Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report has since dismissed these rumors, stating the Rockets are focused on developing their current young core with Kevin Durant, Fred VanVleet, Alperen Sengun, and Amen Thompson.

Fischer suggests the Rockets made their significant veteran acquisition with Durant last summer and are prioritizing patience. He also noted that their lack of activity at the trade deadline indicated a preference for steady progression rather than an aggressive acceleration.

Instead, Fischer has identified the Miami Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers as the primary teams to watch in the race for Antetokounmpo. He also expressed skepticism about potential deals involving the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Golden State Warriors.
