Georgia Tech Lands Top WR Recruit Antwan Lockett

Three-star wide receiver Antwan Lockett announced his commitment to Georgia Tech, choosing the Yellow Jackets over offers from Florida State and Louisville. Lockett's official visit last weekend proved decisive in securing his pledge.

Rated as the No. 62 wide receiver nationally and the No. 70 player in his state by Rivals, Lockett brings a polished skill set to the Flats. He is recognized as a strong route runner adept at creating separation and possesses the speed and quickness to be a constant threat in the open field.

Last season, Lockett had a standout performance for the Colquitt County Packers, amassing 40 catches for 811 yards and 10 touchdowns. His ability to impact the game with a remarkable 20.3 yards per catch average was a key factor. He demonstrated game-changing potential, highlighted by a five-catch, 119-yard, two-touchdown performance against Tift County.

Lockett's versatility allows him to play any receiver position, including slot, boundary, and primary wideout. His dynamic playmaking ability and capacity to take over games make him a significant addition to Georgia Tech's offense. Coaches expect him to make an immediate impact due to his explosiveness and mental makeup.
