24 Jul
Summary
- Starting defensive lineman Gabe Harris is healthy but on a load-management plan.
- Harris injured his toe last season against Alabama, requiring surgery.
- He is expected to play a larger role for Georgia's defense in 2026.

Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart provided an injury update on starting defensive lineman Gabe Harris. Harris, who suffered a significant toe injury last season, is now healthy and participating in drills on a managed basis.
The injury occurred during the SEC championship game against Alabama and led to turf toe surgery, causing him to miss the Sugar Bowl and all of spring practice. Harris recorded 26 tackles, including 6.5 for loss, and a sack in the 2025 season.
With another defensive lineman, Amaris Williams, tearing an ACL, Harris's role is expected to expand significantly for the 2026 season. The team aims for him to be fully ready for their Sept. 5 season opener against Tennessee State.
