Ahead of the final day of the decisive fifth Test between India and England in the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, legendary Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar has unveiled his combined playing XI for the series.
Gavaskar's lineup features a strong Indian contingent, with KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal as the opening pair. Indian captain Shubman Gill, who finished as the series' leading run-scorer with 754 runs at an average of 75.40, including four centuries, takes the crucial No. 3 spot.
England's Joe Root, who amassed 537 runs at an average of 67.12 with three centuries, is slotted in at No. 4, followed by the explosive Rishabh Pant at No. 5. Gavaskar has also included three all-rounders in his XI - Ben Stokes, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar.
The pace attack is led by India's Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, who finished with 14 and 20 wickets, respectively, in the series. England's Josh Tongue, who claimed 19 wickets at an average of 29.05, completes Gavaskar's combined XI.
