Summary
- Julian Edelman believes Patriots got draft steal in RB TreVeyon Henderson
- Henderson had 100-yard kickoff return TD, 8-yard rushing TD in preseason
- Henderson's speed, catching, and pass protection make him a triple threat

According to former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, the team may have found a potential star in rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson. Edelman, speaking on the Patriots Talk Podcast, believes Henderson could be the "steal of the draft" for the Patriots.
Henderson, who was drafted by the Patriots this year, has already made a strong impression in the preseason. In the team's opener against the Washington Commanders, the former Ohio State standout returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown. He followed that up with an 8-yard rushing touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings.
Edelman was particularly impressed by Henderson's well-rounded skill set. "TreVeyon Henderson's probably the steal of the draft... that's the kind of guy you need to draft that becomes part of the nucleus with Drake [Maye]," Edelman said. The Patriots are hoping Henderson's speed, receiving abilities, and pass protection skills will make him a legitimate triple threat option in their backfield.
The team is counting on Henderson to play a significant role in their offense right away. He may even challenge Rhamondre Stevenson for reps as the Patriots' lead running back. Edelman believes the Patriots have found one of the best running backs in the entire 2025 NFL draft class.
