Summary
- Two ex-Fordham players banned for point-shaving scheme.
- Bettors posed as agents to offer NIL deals for game fixes.
- One player cooperated, the other provided false information.

The NCAA has issued permanent bans to former Fordham basketball players Elijah Gray and Will Richardson for their roles in a point-shaving scheme. The players were implicated in a federal indictment unsealed in January.
According to the NCAA's Division I Committee on Infractions, Gray and Richardson agreed with a bettor to fix a game against Duquesne on February 23, 2024, for $10,000 to $15,000. Gray cooperated with NCAA investigators and agreed to plead guilty in the federal case, with sentencing set for July. He stated he ultimately did not follow through with the scheme but admitted to providing information to a bettor.
Richardson did not cooperate with the NCAA and provided false information during an interview. The bettors approached the players under the pretense of being agents who could secure name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals. Both players transferred after the 2023-24 season; Gray to Temple then Wisconsin, and Richardson to Albany. Neither has played since the 2024-25 season.
