Italian short track skating legend Arianna Fontana is gearing up for her sixth Olympic Winter Games appearance, targeting victory on home ice. Fontana, Italy's most decorated winter Olympian, will compete 20 years after her debut at the 2006 Turin Games. She expressed that the support of the home crowd will provide a crucial advantage.
Fontana, who is known for her attachment to her hometown and its cuisine, noted that her favorite air-dried beef fillet, bresaola, was conveniently available at the Olympic village. This eliminates the need for her to bring it from home for the Milano Cortina Games. Her husband and coach, Anthony Lobello, and her family will be present to support her as the short track races commence on February 10. Fontana has amassed 11 Olympic medals to date.
