York's OT Goal Sends Flyers to Round 2

Cam York propelled the Philadelphia Flyers into the second round of the playoffs with a dramatic overtime winner in Game 6 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Flyers clinched the series with a 1-0 victory, marking their first advancement to the second round in six years. Goaltender Dan Vladar delivered a stellar performance, making 42 saves to shut out the Penguins. Pittsburgh's attempt to become only the fifth team in NHL history to win a series after trailing 3-0 was thwarted by the Flyers' resilience.

The Flyers will now face the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round. This victory marks a significant achievement in coach Rick Tocchet's first season with the team. The Flyers, who were the last team in the Eastern Conference to clinch a playoff spot, demonstrated determination throughout the series, overcoming challenges such as early game scoring droughts and power-play inefficiencies.
