- Fluminense seeks a win to match league leaders on points.
- Corinthians aims to end a five-round winless streak in the league.
This Wednesday, Fluminense and Corinthians will face off at the Maracanã stadium in a highly anticipated Brasileirão match. The game, scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Brasília time, is part of the ninth round of the 2026 Brasileirão season.
Fluminense currently holds the fourth position in the league table, accumulating 16 points. A win in this upcoming fixture would allow them to draw level on points with the current league leaders, Palmeiras. The team's recent performance shows a desire to climb higher in the standings.
In contrast, Corinthians has experienced a challenging period in the league, failing to secure a victory in their last five matches, with one loss and four draws. This slump has left Timão in 11th place with 10 points. They will be looking to reverse this trend against Fluminense.
Both teams have made lineup adjustments from their previous games. Fluminense's coach, Luis Zubeldía, has introduced Samuel Xavier, Renê, Serna, and John Kennedy into the starting lineup. Corinthians' manager, Dorival Júnior, has opted for Kauê, Allan, Charles, and Rodrigo Garro to start.
