A leaked jersey suggests the Florida Panthers may be introducing a new alternate uniform, tentatively named 'Pink Panthers Lemonade.' This potential uniform deviates from the team's previous looks, featuring a bright pink base with accent colors including peach, bright yellow, gold, and blue. It incorporates modern versions of the team's classic logos, including the stick-and-palm emblem on the chest and the shield logo on the sleeves.
The leaked jersey, initially listed for auction, has generated buzz despite its unconfirmed authenticity. The design elements, such as the updated primary logo and the shield logo without team name references, point towards a contemporary aesthetic. 'South Florida' is reportedly inscribed on the inside tail of the jersey, and a futuristic 'C' possibly signifies captain Sasha Barkov. The Panthers have not had a dedicated alternate jersey since their 2016 rebrand, though they have released several special edition jerseys, including Reverse Retro designs and a Winter Classic uniform. This potential new design, if official, would mark a significant shift in the team's uniform strategy, embracing a bold color palette.
The team's recent past alternate jerseys, such as the popular Reverse Retro 2.0, have featured a modern take on their original stick-and-palm logo. The new rumored jersey also utilizes a modern iteration of this logo, removing the sunburst triangles from the original design. The inclusion of gold elements in the panther logo could be a nod to Florida's sunshine state identity. The team may continue to wear its blue pants and helmets with this new jersey, given the blue accents present.
