Falcons' Run Defense Stuns, Penix Faces Ravens Test
6 Oct
Summary
- Falcons boast league-best run defense, a stark reversal from last year.
- Michael Penix Jr.'s performance is under scrutiny before facing Ravens.
- Ravens may rely on run game against Atlanta due to Lamar Jackson's injury.
As the Ravens prepare to face the Falcons next Sunday night, their upcoming Monday Night Football game presents an advance scouting opportunity. Key questions surround quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who delivered a strong performance in his recent debut, but his consistency against tough defenses remains a concern.
The Falcons have transformed their run defense into a league leader, allowing minimal yards and showcasing a significant turnaround from the previous year. This dramatic improvement, despite minimal personnel changes, is a notable development.
Atlanta's formidable run defense also poses a challenge for the Ravens, especially if Lamar Jackson is sidelined. The Ravens' offensive line injuries could further complicate their strategy against the Falcons' dominant run-stopping unit.
