Former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has announced his decision to withdraw from the IPL 2026 auction, opting instead for a stint in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Du Plessis, who has amassed 154 appearances in the IPL, expressed that while this chapter is closing, India holds a special place in his heart, and he anticipates returning in the future. His move to the PSL signifies an exciting new challenge, offering a chance to experience a different cricketing landscape and test his skills in a new environment.
During the IPL 2025 season, du Plessis represented Delhi Capitals, scoring 202 runs in nine games and even captaining the side. He has previously played in the PSL between 2019 and 2021.
