Middle East F1 Races Canceled Amid Conflict
15 Mar
Summary
- Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix canceled due to Middle East conflict.
- No replacements for canceled races, creating an April calendar gap.
- FIA prioritizes safety of community and colleagues in decision-making.

Formula One has officially canceled the Grands Prix scheduled for Bahrain and Saudi Arabia next month. The decision was made due to the current conflict in the Middle East. These two rounds will not be rescheduled, resulting in a calendar gap throughout April. The governing FIA confirmed that no substitutions will be made. This action was taken in full consultation with Formula One Group, local promoters, and regional member clubs. FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem emphasized that the safety and well-being of the community and colleagues are always the top priority. The races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia represent substantial financial contributions to Formula One. The Saudi Grand Prix, in particular, is the most lucrative destination on the current calendar. Discussions are also underway regarding potential contingencies for the Qatar and Abu Dhabi races later in the season.
