Experts Pick Dream XI from Epic 2025 India-England Test Series

According to a panel of former England cricketers, including Michael Vaughan, Alastair Cook, David Lloyd, and Phil Tufnell, the combined playing XI from the recently concluded 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between India and England features some of the series' top performers.

The 5-Test series, which ended in a 2-2 draw on August 5th, 2025, saw several memorable individual displays. Indian opener KL Rahul and England's Ben Duckett were selected as the openers, with Yashasvi Jaiswal narrowly missing out. Rahul scored 532 runs at over 53 average, while Duckett amassed 462 runs at 51.33, including a match-winning 149 in the series opener.

The panel chose Shubman Gill and Joe Root as the two best batters in the series. Gill was the leading run-scorer with an incredible 754 runs at over 75 average, including four centuries. Root, on the other hand, continued his record-breaking run, scoring centuries in the last three matches and finishing with 537 runs at 67.12 average.

The middle-order was completed by dynamic right-hander Harry Brook and England captain Ben Stokes, who played only the first four Tests but still managed 304 runs and 17 wickets. Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant, who scored 479 runs at 68.42 average, was also included in the XI.

The lone spinner in the lineup is Washington Sundar, who scored 284 runs at 47.33 average and picked up 7 wickets. The pace attack features Gus Atkinson, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj, with the latter being the series' leading wicket-taker with 23 scalps at 32.43 average.

Ben Stokes was chosen to captain the combined XI, with Jasprit Bumrah as his deputy.
