Europe's New T20 League Secures Global Broadcast Deals

Europe's first ICC-sanctioned franchise T20 league, the European T20 Premier League (ETPL), is set to launch from August 26 to September 20. The league has secured broadcast agreements with JioStar, TNT Sports, HBO Max, Willow, and Cricbuzz, ensuring wide global coverage.

JioStar will carry the tournament across India, while TNT Sports and HBO Max will broadcast in the UK and Ireland. Willow and Cricbuzz will serve North America, the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia. Six city-based franchises representing Glasgow, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast, and Rotterdam will compete in 32 matches.

The league aims to foster cricket's growth in Europe by providing a platform for emerging talent and expanding the sport's reach. Prominent figures in cricket, including Steve Waugh, Rahul Dravid, Jonty Rhodes, Matthew Hayden, Faf du Plessis, and Heinrich Klaasen, are part of the franchise ownership group.
