ESPN Revamps No. 2 NFL Broadcast Team for New Deal
2 Apr
Summary
- ESPN's second-tier NFL broadcast team may be changed.
- Jason Kelce and Kurt Warner are considered for new roles.
- International games may impact announcer availability.

ESPN is reportedly planning changes to its secondary NFL broadcast team, which currently includes Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky, and Louis Riddick Jr. These adjustments are being made in light of a new NFL broadcasting agreement.
Jason Kelce has emerged as a significant candidate for an analyst position, with NFL Network's Kurt Warner also being considered. Dave Pasch and Mike Monaco are contenders for play-by-play announcer roles, though other names like Bob Wischusen could surface. ESPN executives are actively finalizing these plans.
The new NFL deal includes seven extra games, a high likelihood of which will be international matchups. This could limit the availability of Fowler, ESPN's top college play-by-play announcer, and impact Orlovsky and Riddick, who also have college football responsibilities. While not entirely ruled out, their regular presence in the booth may be reduced.
In contrast, the primary NFL broadcast team of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman is expected to remain in place as they enter the final seasons of their contracts. ESPN has also taken over operations of the NFL Network, with plans to maintain its current structure and executive leadership. The network also aims to retain NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
