Rockets' Şengün Shines Post-Injury, Boosts Playoff Chances

Alperen Şengün has demonstrated a remarkable resurgence since overcoming a nagging lower back injury, significantly impacting the Houston Rockets' recent success. Before his two-game absence, his scoring efficiency was notably lower, but he has since returned with increased aggression and improved decision-making.

During the nine games following his return, Şengün has posted impressive averages of 23.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 7.1 assists. His field goal percentage has climbed to 63.4 percent, a substantial improvement from the 48.3 percent prior to his injury.

This resurgence has been critical for the Rockets, who have won four consecutive games. Şengün's improved play has led to a decrease in team turnovers, with Houston averaging just 8.6 turnovers over their last three games, marking a first-time occurrence of 10 or fewer turnovers in three straight contests.

Furthermore, Şengün has expanded his offensive repertoire by increasing his three-point attempts, shooting 10-of-18 from beyond the arc in his last nine games. This new dimension to his game, coupled with his developing chemistry with Kevin Durant, positions the Rockets as a more formidable threat heading into the playoffs.
