22 Oct
Summary
- Brook aims for a better performance in the middle overs against spinners.
- England aims to put opponents under pressure with strong first innings.
- Liam Dawson and Josh Tongue have been added to the England squad.
England captain Harry Brook has identified the middle overs of their batting innings as a key area for improvement following a recent defeat. He stated that the team was overly hesitant against opposition spinners, and plans to adopt a more aggressive approach.
Looking ahead, Brook emphasized the strategic importance of securing a substantial first-innings total. He believes a robust score on what is expected to be a firm pitch will allow England to dictate terms and apply significant pressure on their opponents.
Changes have been made to the England squad, with Liam Dawson and Josh Tongue being brought into the team. They will feature in place of Sonny Baker and Adil Rashid for the upcoming fixtures.
