Bethell opens for England vs India, Buttler hits 200!

England has announced their playing XI for the first ODI against India, scheduled for Edgbaston on Tuesday. Jacob Bethell will open the batting alongside Ben Duckett, a strategic move as the team seeks a stable opening partnership. This series marks a significant personal achievement for veteran wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler, who is set to appear in his 200th ODI match.

In preparation for India's potent batting lineup, England has opted for a spin-heavy bowling attack. Will Jacks, Liam Dawson, and experienced leg-spinner Adil Rashid are included in the squad. Jofra Archer has also been recalled to the ODI side, having impressed in recent T20I performances, and will lead the pace attack alongside Josh Tongue. The three-match ODI series will continue in Cardiff on July 16 and conclude at Lord's on July 19.
