- The team has reclassified from Class A2 to Class B this season.

The East High Eagles are entering the new season with a clear objective: to secure another championship title. Last year, the team achieved an 8-3 record, culminating in their second sectional title in three years. This season, the Eagles will compete in Class B, a reclassification from their previous Class A2 status.
Head coach James Vann emphasized that the team's approach will remain consistent, focusing on hard work and execution regardless of the challenges. Players like junior Dezmon Jackson and sophomore Darius Weathers are motivated to "dominate every game" and "execute" to achieve their goal.
Senior Jamie Anderson and sophomore Anthony Lucas share this confidence, noting the team's physical and mental development. They believe consistency and hard work will lead to victory. The Eagles are scheduled to kick off their season on Friday, September 4th, against Wilson/Early College, looking to build on last year's momentum.
