Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is focusing on contributions beyond the traditional statistics for rookie receiver Makai Lemon. While acknowledging the desire for more catches and yards, Sirianni highlighted that Lemon's impact is evident in his practice performance and his execution of assignments when the ball is not directed his way.
Sirianni indicated that Lemon's role is likely to expand as he consistently does the right things on the field. The coaching staff is reportedly pleased with Lemon's development, seeing his progress as a positive indicator for future game performance. This behind-the-scenes evaluation suggests the Eagles believe in Lemon's growing capabilities.
While Lemon's statistical output may not yet match the excitement surrounding his draft selection, the Eagles' coaching staff is placing significant trust in his overall play. His opportunities are expected to increase not by design to force the ball to him, but by his continued demonstration of deserving to be on the field. This approach signifies a belief that greater production will follow for the talented receiver.
