Drew McIntyre recently reignited speculation about his rivalry with CM Punk by posting a cryptic two-word message, "Series Finale," on social media. This post accompanied a photo from their intense Hell in a Cell match two years ago, where Punk had previously interfered in McIntyre's championship pursuits. The memory of their significant feud, which spanned the summer, was brought back to the forefront by McIntyre's post.
In related news, John Cena disclosed on WWE Unreal that he was originally scheduled to face Drew McIntyre. This planned match was to follow Cena's encounter with Brock Lesnar. Cena explained that audience reactions indicated a desire for different matchups, leading to the cancellation of his proposed bout with McIntyre.
McIntyre has been absent from WWE programming for an extended period, with his last televised appearance being at WrestleMania 42 where he competed in an Unsanctioned Match against Jacob Fatu. The timing of his potential return to WWE remains uncertain. In contrast, CM Punk is currently a featured performer on SmackDown, actively involved in the Undisputed WWE Title scene and preparing to compete in the upcoming Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
