New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, alongside his wife Ann Michael, is launching the MayeDay Family Foundation to support children and families facing hardship. This initiative aims to provide critical assistance for a brighter future.
To fund their mission, the Mayes are hosting an inaugural Celebrity Softball Classic. The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 31, at Polar Park, home of the Worcester Red Sox.
What sets this event apart is the impressive roster of participants. Attendees will include Maye's Patriots teammates and coaches, such as Head Coach Mike Vrabel and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Additionally, the roster features prominent athletes with deep New England ties.
Confirmed participants include Olympic Gold Medalist Megan Keller and PWHL Boston Fleet captain Jill Saulnier. NHL legends Zdeno Chara, Boston College alum Will Smith, and Hingham native Matty Beniers are also slated to attend. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and comedian Matt Rife are also expected.
The game will pit Team Patriots against Team Sox, coached by Vrabel and McDaniels, respectively. The MayeDay Family Foundation is excited to give back to the New England community that has shown such strong support.
The event on May 31 will feature a home run derby starting at 6 p.m. EST, followed by the softball game at 7 p.m. Postgame festivities will include fireworks. A silent auction will offer items like game tickets and signed jerseys for the Oct. 18 game against the New York Jets.
