18 Nov
Summary
- Karim Adeyemi fined £396,411.75 for possessing illegal weapons
- Offense dates back to 2024, avoided public trial
- Adeyemi did not inform Germany national team of incident

According to a report from German publication BILD, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United target Karim Adeyemi has been fined a staggering £396,411.75 (€450,000) for the possession of illegal weapons. The 23-year-old winger must pay the fine in 60 daily installments, with each payment totaling £6,606.86.
The public prosecutor's office in Germany stated that the penalty became legally binding on October 30, 2025, after Adeyemi was found to be in possession of a knuckle duster and a taser. The offense dates back to 2024, and the decision was made by a district court in Hagen, North Rhine-Westphalia. Adeyemi has avoided a public trial and will not receive a criminal record.
The incident has caused a stir ahead of an important Germany national team match. Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann said the "issue is a bit too big before such an important game" and refused to comment further. Adeyemi did not play in Germany's 6-0 win over Slovakia on Monday night.
Despite the off-field controversy, Adeyemi has been in impressive form on the pitch for Borussia Dortmund this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists. The club is keen to agree a new contract with the star, but he is reported to be unsettled after a clash with manager Niko Kovac.
