Dodgers Star Ohtani's Wife Amused by Taunting Fans at World Series

The fans were taunting Ohtani, serenading him with cries of "We don't need you!" throughout his at-bats.

However, Ohtani's reaction to the jeers was quite unexpected. During a team workout on October 26, 2025, Ohtani joked that his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, "really appreciated" the chants from the Blue Jays fans. The couple had gotten married in February 2024, and Tanaka was present at Game 1 in Toronto, as evidenced by a photo shared by the Dodger Wives Instagram account.

The taunting from the Toronto crowd was a reference to the 2023 free agent cycle, when Ohtani reportedly narrowed his choice down to the Dodgers and Blue Jays.
