Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reported that the Dodgers will likely keep Hernandez, acknowledging that while Tucker's defense may not be at its peak, he can play right field with Hernandez in left and Pages in center. Pages offers significant defensive value, having recorded four outs above average in center field.
Despite potential defensive shortcomings from Tucker and Hernandez, manager Dave Roberts and president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman are reportedly comfortable with the lineup's offensive upside. The organization believes the offensive firepower outweighs the risk of occasional errors. The availability of Alex Call, acquired from the Washington Nationals, offers another option for defensive replacement if needed.
